String Of Recent Meth Lab Busts Has Police And Neighbors Concerned

Police say the growing meth problem in Michiana is getting worse. Officers busted the latest lab Thursday, after an explosion at a mobile home park in Lincoln Township, MI. It's just the latest in a string of high profile meth busts.

Rachel Walsh has lived at the Spring Lake Mobile Home Park for the past six years. But in the past six months, she says things have changed.

Now, she says this is her last straw.

"It makes me want to move," she said. "But it makes me worried that my house is not going to be of value anymore, because who's going to want to move in here with this kind of thing in here?"

Stylish but affordable haven for first time buyers

Redeham Homes highlights that it is becoming increasingly difficult for first time buyers to purchase a home, with figures from the Council of Mortgage Lenders showing that they need to borrow an average of £113,887, equivalent to 3.29 times their income. In addition, calculations by the RICS suggest that a first time buyer couple would need to save 81.8% of their annual income to raise the £32,784 required to cover a deposit, stamp duty and other associated fees.

However, first time buyers in the South East are able to take advantage of the affordability of Redeham Homes' Milliners Place development in Luton, where one bedroom apartments start from only £130,000. In addition, Redeham Homes is offering a special incentive to help buyers take their first step on to the property ladder by paying purchasers 5% deposit along with stamp duty and legal fees.

Providing the case for a Detroit-free summer

Summer is approaching quickly, and many of us are anxiously planning our summer vacations. One place I would not recommend going is Detroit, Mich. A few reasons to steer clear of the Motor City are the poverty, crime, and frankly, the lack of people and things to do. After experiencing Detroit for three days, I was thoroughly unimpressed and felt no pulling desire to ever venture back to the depressing city. According to clickondetroit.com, though Detroit is struggling with economic issues, recent efforts to revitalize the center city have seen success. I'm sorry, but the sections of the city I was in showed no sign of success. If they call the occasional gated, suburban looking neighborhood planted among abandoned or poverty-stricken communities a success, then sure, it's quite a success.
